IAEH hires new Executive Assistant

The International Association of Event Hosts has hired Olga Correia to become it's first Executive Assistant, based at Loughborough University London, located at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The brand new Loughborough University London campus, inaugurated for the 2015/2016 academic year, is part of the “Here East” project, a legacy of the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The project transformed the Press and Broadcasting Centres into the most advanced digital infrastructure in Europe and a training ground for new talents. Loughborough University London created a new research centre for postgraduate studies across culture, business, sport, exercise and health.

Olga recently completed a master’s degree course in Sports Management at Loughborough University. Having had interest in major events comes for many years, Olga has been focusing her studies on the impacts of mega-events to host cities and recently wrote a dissertation about the impacts of hosting the 2016 Summer Olympic Games on the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Prior to coming to the UK in 2015, Olga worked for the Brazilian Government, at the Ministry of Sport, as part of the team that deals with the Brazilian Plan for Olympic Medals. The Plan offers financial support to elite athletes competing in Olympic Sports.
