Pioneering a Joint Venture with an NGB to Deliver World Class Events
A special guest presentation from Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events, on a genuinely new approach to organising major sporting events; one that is already delivering results and challenging long-held assumptions about how events should be run.
Beyond the Balance Sheet: Due Diligence in Sports Bidding and Event Investment
Yasin Patel from Church Court Chambers delivered a wide-ranging and candid analysis of what serious investors, governments and governing bodies actually examine before committing to a club, a bid or a major event.
Levelling-up Event Evaluation
Mike Duignan (CEO, Centre for Events and Festivals) and Iain Edmondson (CEO, Legacy Delivery) considered insightful new approaches to event evaluation, including a theory of change and field configurations. There was also analysis of “pregacy” and the value of veracity in impact evaluation. Correlative and causal links were also taken into account.
