Ministry of Sports
The Ministry of Sports, Republic of China (Taiwan) is the highest sports authority in Taiwan. It was originally formed under the name of the Sports Affairs Council (SAC) of the Executive Yuan on January 1998. Starting January 2013, the SAC become the Sports Administration (SA) under the Ministry of Education as part of the government structural reform. Since October 2025, the responsible authority now became the Ministry of Sports.
Over the years, the Ministry of Sport has devoted itself to integrating sports resources, promoting sports for all, cultivating outstanding athletes, creating a well-equipped sports environment, and expanding exchanges with the international community. Emphasis is now placed in the following items:
- Implementing sports for all
- Integrating the structure and systems of competitive sports
- Enhancing Taiwan’s capacity and profile in hosting major international sporting events
- Promoting the commercial development of the sports industry
- Putting sustainability and diversity values into practice
- Investing in youth and grassroots talent development
