The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media oversees the protection and presentation of Ireland’s cultural assets. The Major Events Division was established in late 2019, its primary function is the bidding and hosting of Major Events which require Government support and input to win. This can come in the form of financial support, legislation, commercial protections, ICT, transport and security provisions as well as political support.
